Project Overview
In December 2019, Global Brigades completed the construction of a new water system in Altos del Estiquirin that is currently benefiting 408 community members.
Altos del Estiquirin, Honduras
In 2017, Global Brigades visited Altos del Estiquirin to complete and share the design of a water system for the community. Altos del Estiquirin is a community in the southern part of Honduras, whose only water system was a well that wasn’t enough to feed all of the community. Both parties agreed on a water system that would work for the community even during the summer/dry season and began the construction in 2019.
Water System Solution
After the general assessment done by Global Brigades, the possible solution for Altos del Estiquirin water system was the construction of a 15,000 gallons water tank with a total of 7 kilometres of piping that feeds 408 community members. The construction of this tank was finished in 2019.
