Project Overview

On May 2022, Global Brigades completed the construction of a new water system in the community of El Caragual that now feeds water to 187 community members.

El Caragual, Honduras

The community of El Caragual is located in Valle in the southern part of Honduras. When Global Brigades first visited El Caragual, community members expressed that the community had a community well that the mayor had drilled with the support of another organization. This well was a bit far from the community and it was especially difficult for elders to carry the water from the well to their homes. In 2021, Global Brigades presented the idea of building a water system for the community, this way community members would have access to sufficient water closer to their homes.

Water System Solution

After the general assessment done by Global Brigades in 2021, the solution for El Caragual was to build a 10,000 gallons water tank with a total of 4.00 kilometres of piping that now feeds 187 community members. The construction of this water system was finished in May 2022.
