Project Overview

In June 2015, Global Brigades completed the construction of a new water system in Los Hatillos #2 that is currently benefiting 643 community members.

Los Hatillos #2, Honduras

In 2015, Global Brigades visited Los Hatillos #2 to complete and share the design of a water system for the community. Los Hatillos #2, which didn’t have a water system, had access to a river that was near the community. The community members had to walk to the creek multiple times to get water for their daily activities, this was inconvenient, especially for the kids and elders. Both, the community and Global Brigades, agreed that a gravity system was the best option for the community and began construction in 2015.

Water System Solution

After the general assessment done by Global Brigades, the best option was to use the resources the community already had available, their creek. Global Brigades’ design included the construction of a tank that was going to be fed from the creek and 23 kilometres of pipeline. The construction of this water system was finished in 2015.
