Project Overview

Global Brigades has assessed the water situation San Jose de Ramos and is preparing for the design of the water system solution. This system will improve water access to 600 beneficiaries.

San Jose de Ramos, Honduras

San Jose de Ramos is a community in the central part of Honduras, whose current water system is in need of improvement. Although the current water system works fairly well, it is has several problems of collection, distribution, operation and maintenance. The main area of improvement focuses on the actual water collection, since the system does not collect the sufficient amount of water, not even during the summer/dry season. This problems affects directly San Jose de Ramos’ population because it decreases their access to water, which can impact the community’s health conditions.

Water System Solution

After the general assessment done by Global Brigades, the possible solution for San Jose de Ramos’ water system, is the construction of two water catchment dams, a storage tank and the expansion of its outlets. This construction will improve the distribution network and increase coverage within the community.
