Project Overview

In 2021, Global Brigades and its partner, the Ghana Water Company, installed 1 new standpipe in Ayeldu providing clean water to 3,159 people and 955 households.

Ayeldu, Ghana

Before the construction of water systems by Global Brigades, the population of Ayeldu accessed water from two boreholes. The community also has a creek, so people would often walk for around 20 minutes for one round trip to get water from it as well. Some community members also preferred to buy bags of drinking water due to the salty nature of water from the boreholes.

Water System Solution

In 2021, Global Brigades, in partnership with the Ghana Water Company, constructed 1 community standpipe to provide safe drinking and potable water for 3,159 community members.
